Lighter Later →
Everybody loves the sunshine. But every year we set our clocks so that we get less of it in our lives, sleeping through the sunlit mornings while we use expensive, polluting electric lights to keep out the dark nights. Reflecting on Hack The Planet
As promised, here is a follow up post on Hack The Planet, our one day hack-day event held on Birmingham last month.
First of all, a big thanks to everyone who turned out. In the end around 15 people joined us at One Black Bear’s studio in Digbeth. We began the day discussing the various ways in which the work we do impacts on the environment. The two big issues we settled on were conference...

If you’re at SXSW and still have your schwag bag, why not take it to the...
Can I Be Green and Surf the Net? →

Thanks to Si for the tip.

Save Energy With Your Wii →
For Blog Action Day 2007, Andreas Gohr investigated how much energy is consumed by his different appliances whilst turned off:
The biggest surprise was my Wii. It draws amazingly little energy while playing a game (18 Watts)—compare that to a PC or a laptop. But the Wii had a really high standby consumption of 10 Watts!
In fact there are three power states your Wii can be in. They are indicated...
